Join us at West Bloomfield Congregational Church on Saturday, October 18, 2025 for an unforgettable night.

Middle and high school students will collect sponsorships to spend the night in cardboard “shanties” in our church parking lot. The evening includes games that build awareness about homelessness, a “soup kitchen” style dinner, time around the fire, and plenty of fun!

Why we do it:
Funds raised will support Habitat for Humanity of Ontario County. This year, we’ll also collect items for the WBCC HOPE Food Pantry. Community members are welcome to drop off items during the event and stop by to see the shanties.

Get involved:

  • Know a middle or high schooler who’d love this experience? Send them our way!
  • Chaperones are needed. Can you sleep outside or in your car for the night? This is a great opportunity for Shanty Town alums!
  • Volunteers are needed for dinner and breakfast.

Together, we’ll raise awareness, build community, and make a difference.
