West Bloomfield Congregational Church is inviting local school-age students to participate in Love is Stronger 2.0, a community art show and contest taking place this April.
The event centers on the theme “Love is Stronger,” encouraging young artists to explore what that message means to them — whether through kindness, resilience, unity, justice, friendship, hope, or compassion. Students are invited to interpret the theme creatively and personally.
All forms of original visual art are welcome, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media. Each student may submit up to two pieces. Artwork must be original and created by the student; AI-generated work will not be accepted. Students in grades K-12 must be enrolled in an Ontario, Monroe, or Livingston County school (or be home-schooled and reside in one of those counties.)
The artwork will also be available for viewing during Love is Stronger 2.0 on Saturday, April 18. The event will feature live music, guest speakers, and hands-on “craftivism” activities focused on themes of compassion and justice. This year’s Love is Stronger gathering highlights immigration rights and the belief that love, dignity, and community are stronger than fear and division.
The community is invited to attend a special Art Show Closing Reception on Sunday, May 17, from 5:00–6:00 p.m., where the artwork will be showcased and contest winners recognized.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st Place ($75), 2nd Place ($50), 3rd Place ($25), and Best of Show ($100). Students who would like the opportunity to sell their artwork may indicate a sale price on their entry form.
Artwork must be delivered to the church by April 11. Click here for entry form.
