At West Bloomfield Congregational Church, we believe that everyone deserves a place where they are welcomed, valued, and loved just as they are. As an Open and Affirming congregation, we strive to create a community where people can grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, ask honest questions, and serve others together. Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning after time away, or looking for a spiritual home, you are welcome here.
Our congregation unanimously adopted its Open and Affirming Statement on January 4, 2009, affirming our commitment to extravagant welcome, inclusion, and respect for all God’s people.
West Bloomfield Congregational Church, ONA Statement:
We know as Christians that we are many members, but are one body in Christ. We are members of one another, and we all have different gifts. With Jesus, we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are called to act as agents of reconciliation and wholeness within the world and within the church itself. We join together as a loving Christian community to celebrate and share our common communion and the reassurance that we are indeed created by God, reconciled by Christ, and empowered by the grace of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, we welcome, into the full life and ministry of the church, persons of any sexual orientation, race, gender, age, nationality, ethnicity, economic status, marital status, or physical disability.
