Blue Christmas Gathering
The Christmas season is a time of communal joy and celebration. This is as it should be, but not at the expense of those among us who are grieving, despondent, and/or depressed. It can be an isolating and lonely time for our brothers and sisters who are hurting.
West Bloomfield Congregational Church UCC will observe a Blue Christmas Gathering Sunday, December 13th at 6 pm. Developed and led by Corey S. Keyes, Cora Miller Cornelius, Julie Hall-Jugle, and Carolyn Troy, it will be a quietly reverent and tenderly comforting service created for those who are hurting emotionally. A simple soup and bread meal will be offered after the service for any who choose to stay.
Please pass this information along to any you know who might wish to attend.
It was a Big Ol’ Lawn Party
What a morning! Service was held outdoors for Pentecost Sunday, followed up by the official launch of dbdb’s “Awakening“, with the brand-new album performed in its entirety. The late spring weather was perfect and the atmosphere was made all the more festive with chicken barbeque and a bouncy house for the young’uns. Enjoy some photos of the day. Then head over to the WBCC Facebook group page for even more fun pics.
